Tender Bar – A Memoir Leaning on Nostalgia

Tender Bar, while not original on any front, is an agreeable film.  Tender Bar is directed by George Clooney, and stars Ben Affleck, and Ty Sheridan.  Christopher Lloyd, and Lily Rabe co-star.

Tender Bar is based on the memoir of Pulitzer Prize winning newspaper reporter J.R. Moehringer’s early life.  The directing, acting, and screenplay in Tender are not remarkable or original in nature.  The film relies heavily on nostalgia – perhaps too much.  However, Tender Bar does feel sincere, and at-least me, makes the time used to watch the film worth it.
